A valued customer recently contacted us to report that her 18mm Clear Safety Eyes had failed a safety test in a lab. In response, we immediately withdrew this product from our website so we could complete a thorough investigation—because your safety always comes first.

We take product safety incredibly seriously. Upon testing, we are that 100% confident the product itself is not faulty. Our investigation found that the safety eyes on the test sample were probably not properly secured.

Important note:
We appreciate that these safety eyes can be hard to fit, but that’s exactly what ensures they do NOT fail the tension test—either at home or in a lab—when properly installed.

✅ How to fit them safely:

• The washer must be securely fitted over the second ridge on the back of the safety eye.
• When pushing it down, you’ll hear two distinctive clicks.
• Only then is it completely safe and secure.
